About Us

For 20 years Chef Victor and Chiara Covelli's Zen Forrest was a favorite restaurant with Tampa Bay area foodies. The highly acclaimed Zen Forrest was known for its mix of some of the best cuisine from China, Thailand, Korea, Japan and other Asian countries. Zen's amazing food along with its extensive wine list made it a local favorite.

In 2021 Chef Victor was approached by Jay Patel about creating a new concept. Thus a new partnership and the idea of Zen Kitchen & Bar was born. The concept is Fully Pan Asian which includes cuisine from East Asia and India plus Sushi. This concept would have a full liquor bar with exotic signature cocktails. Jay also thought a bigger and better venue was needed to showcase Chef Victor's skills.

The city of New Port Richey wanted an upscale restaurant for its up-and-coming and trendy downtown area. An ideal space was found but it required extensive renovation. After almost 2 years, the beautiful new Zen Kitchen & Bar was completed in September of 2023. It features a spectacular full liquor cocktail bar, a chef-hosted sushi bar, and an available private room for parties, events, and meetings. There is nothing like it on the west coast of Florida.
